Should jurors be permitted to decide innocence or guilt in a capital murder case? Why or Why not?

Based on your reading of pp. 294-318 in chapter 13 and your viewing of the videos in the Week 9 learning materials page, please address the following:

  • Should jurors be permitted to decide innocence or guilt in a capital murder case? Why or Why not?
  • How do you think a jury similar to the jury portrayed in 12 Angry Men would decide a similar case today?
  • In your initial post, please give examples of the textbook concepts that you see demonstrated in the jury decision making videos.  Also, please state whether you believe these examples had any influence of changing other jurors minds and why you think that led to more justice or less justice for the defendant.
