.  Identify the functional and user experience requirements

Instructions for Completing the Lab Assignment

In this lab assignment, your group will do a complete requirements analysis for the topic and scenario that you chose for Lab Assignment 1.  Identify the functional and user experience requirements.  Also, classify whether each of these requirements is physical, psychological (cognitive, perceptual, emotional, etc.) or technological.  After you have identified all relevant requirements, rank the requirements in order of overall importance.  What you think is important should be determined by the group, note that this might vary based on your design perspective.

  1. An activity diagram (see example below), highlighting how the user moves through your scenario
  2. A well-organized Activity Chart (see example below) that lists all categories of requirements, and the individual requirements you have identified and classified, and their subsequent overall ranking. This should appear on its own page (likely in landscape form), to allow for a quick understanding of your efforts.
  3. A support document, which clearly articulates every requirement, and provides additional detail as necessary and explains why it is important for your topic. Brevity is rewarded here, you likely do not need to write more than a few sentences for each.  Note your goal here is to make it clear to an outside audience (a) what the requirement actually is, and (b) why we should care about it relative to your topic.

For your lab assignment, you again only need to turn in 1 document per group.  Make sure to include a cover page (with all your team members names), and that everything is double-spaced, 12pt Times New Roman font, 1 inch margins.  The length of your assignment will vary, but will likely be between 3-5 pages (not including the cover page or summary chart) based on the requirements you identify.  Your paper will be evaluated for completeness, so focus more on the quality of your work rather than the page length.
